Not that I think Superman: Doomsday was bad, or anything. I think New Frontier just had better source material to work with. Naturally, NF cuts a lot of stuff, but I think the important things are there. One thing that I was really let down by was the change in how the John Henry character was portrayed. In the book, if memory serves, he got a few pages where he comes off as very heroic, and then an impassioned speech on television about the injustice of his death. In the show, he doesn't appear, and the speech about him is far more ambivalent. I'm going to pick it up, I think, to have a copy. Don't know whether I'm sold on the special edition.
