Recently I've made it a point to visit my local library to fulfill some New Year's resolutions, and I found that many (but not all) of the volumes can be found through the library system. I just ran through Volume 1 last night and I can definitely see how this series set the standard for so many samurai epics. The creators really aren't afraid to make Ogami look like a completely horrible person at times, and I'm really enjoying picking up all the historical references. I keep finding new elements upon re-reading. I'm hoping to catch up to you soon so I can join in on the conversation, but until then, thanks for convincing me to finally read something I always meant to get to, but then went to the store and bought Spawn instead.
