@versasovantare: That's a great scene.

I have to say I find Deadpool forced and annoying in almost everything I read him in.

"Funny" characters' success depend on how funny the writer is and so often mainstream marvel characters just aren't very funny. Deadpool's like the guy at the party everyone say's you're going to love because he's just "sooooo totally rand0m!" who inevitably turns out to be a bit of a bell end.

I can't fathom why he's got 3 ongoing titles. I mean, unless one is MAX or something, what's the point? What are the differences (aside from the obvious team up one).

I also loved the Deadpool knock-off in the Superman/Batman annual. Joe Kelly's just about the only writer I can think of who can write Deadpool in such a way that a lot of his tics, like his randomness and pop-culture references, feel both natural and funny. A lot of the time, his antics feel sort of forced.

The first issue of Deadpool that I read was #20 of his first on-going(I may have the number wrong, but what I'm talking about is the story where he takes Monty to Monte Carlo), and I pretty much immediately took to the series. The character I actually sympathised most with initially was Monty, and I was surprised by how strongly I felt for him at the end of the issue when something unpleasant happened to him.

Speaking of Stiltman, I'd have to say my favourite scene with him came from Bendis' run on Daredevil, when Stiltman approaches Murdock in his civilian guise and gives him the Stiltman costume as a way of retiring. It's a great example of Daredevil's character actually displaying his sense of humour, albeit in a fairly deadpan sort of way.
