Ultimatum Edit Week 4: Day Five

June 11th, 2009 by | Tags: , , , , , , , , , ,

As we last left our unfortunate heroes, Nick Fury is visited by Mr. Fantastic, Dr. Doom and Zarda. He doesn’t seem at all surprised to find out that the world is being torn apart in his absence, as he apparently warned Doom about it back in the day.

Hey, ever notice that the current Squadron Supreme series takes place five years after Ultimate Power, but only months have passed in the Ultimate Universe? What the hell is up with that?

ManiacClown and I will be back tomorrow to finish off the Kitty Pryde scene and finally get to some actual Magneto action. It’s about time.

Day Six!
Day Seven!

  1. My god, Finch is bad at drawing faces. This is probably the only reality wherein Kitty Pryde is the illegitimate daughter of Renée Zellweger.

  2. Also, does the bit where Reed and Doom hook up and manage to show up in the Supreme Power universe happen in UFF? Cause that is an awkward transition.

  3. LOL!!!!!!!!! These pages are GOLD! The others were okay, but so many awesome jokes were had here.

I loved the Joe Besser line…and wonder how many people caught it.

The Ebay jokes were great. Even the “Night Court” card set. 😀

The crack about Logan just being a head and living…priceless. God that mini-series was crap!

  4. Wait, that was Kitty? I thought it was Mary Jane!

  5. Nice ‘Black Snake Moan’ reference. My brother got me that on DVD for Christmas, but nothing about it makes me want to watch it. Should I? It looks bollocks, but not in a good way.

  6. @Sads: It’s okay. Not great, but watchable. The whole thing about chaining her up, which they make you think is the entire movie, is really just a 20-minute segment.

  7. Thanks! That does make it sound a lot better, actually. I’ll probably get around to watching it in the next month or so, now.

  8. @Gavok: My wife and I dug it. It’s Big Sammy L getting to be a badass like usual, but in a different way. Plus, you know, the whole chaining of a scantily-clad Christina Ricci should appeal to any nerd guy’s inner Heavy Metal-watching 15-year-old regardless of why he does it.

  9. @Adam: Nope. All of the meetup has been in Ultimatum and it consists of “Doom grabs Reed from a minisub, suddenly they are in another universe”.

  10. @MLD: I caught it as an old timey joke that I’d probably know from too much Looney Tunes as a kid. But you’ve reminded me that I also know it as the worst Stooge’s catchphrase.

  11. Oh yeah!! Looney Tunes did use it. As I read your post, I remembered a huge elephant saying the phrase before punching another character. 😀

  12. “I’ll never get good feedback.”

    Outstanding. I actually LOL’d.
